From BB Creams to CC Creams, and now DD creams!

BB creams became a huge hit after it was released in the market. I admit that I am a fan of BB creams. But wait, here comes CC creams! And it's already out in the market. So let's find out more about cc cream and it's difference with bb cream.

What is CC cream?

CC cream or Color Control/ Color Corrector creams, are upgraded version of the famous bb cream. It has a light weight texture that helps to even out your skin tone that gives you a natural looking skin. This cream also contains anti-aging, whitening ingredients, and generous amount of SPF.

CC cream vs. BB cream

BB cream or Blemish Balm is an all-in-one product that contains moisturizer and can act as a primer, foundation, and sun block. Because it is termed "blemish balm", the main focus of this product is to cover and treat blemishes at the same time. It also contains anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties. On the other hand, CC cream have the same benefits like bb creams. But it focuses more on correcting or controlling your skin color. You don't need to apply green, pink, or purple colored make up base/primer before a bb cream or foundation. It instantly evens out the redness of your skin, the visible veins in your face, scars, and dark spots. CC cream has a lighter texture than bb cream, which makes it smooth upon application. In terms of coverage, cc cream claims that they provide better coverage than bb creams.

Which is better?

I guess it really depends on your needs. If you're in the process of treating your blemishes or acne I recommend bb creams. But if you want to focus in correcting your skin color, I suggest cc creams. Both products offers a natural look. Some bb creams appears a little grayish, but cc cream looks more natural in your skin because it blends perfectly.

DD cream???

DD cream stands for "Daily Defense". This is already launched in UK. But based on what I've researched, it is not an upgrade version of bb and cc cream. It targets the body including the foot. Recent reports claims that it soothes and moisturizes dry or cracked skin areas, protects skin from UV rays, and helps to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars.

There are lots of versions of  CC creams. But I have seen 2 brands here in the Philippines, Tony Moly Luminous Aura CC cream and The Skin Shop Iris CC Cream. But some online shops offers other cc creams from various brands like Mizon, Banila co., etc. Here is the link of some trusted sites in case you want to check them out:
